Financial infrastructure needs to protect sensitive activity while still supporting the collaboration required for payments, tokenized assets and settlement. That makes privacy an architectural question for both institutions and the teams building their systems.
The LF Decentralized Trust Privacy for Financial Services Workshop took place in New York on 22–23 October 2026, with Morgan Stanley and Citi listed as the respective day hosts. Jay Prakash, Founder and CEO of Silence Laboratories, featured on the programme’s Privacy Builders Panel.
Bringing implementation perspectives together
The panel programme included builders from Gateway, Applied Blockchain, Matter Labs and Solana, moderated by Hart Montgomery of LF Decentralized Trust.
The wider workshop agenda covered privacy architectures, institutional requirements and technical work across decentralized financial infrastructure. Its format brought financial institutions into the same conversation as the developers implementing those capabilities.
Private computation within financial workflows
Our work at Silence focuses on enabling institutions to collaborate while maintaining control over sensitive inputs. In a financial workflow, that means looking closely at the function being evaluated, the parties authorised to participate and the output that each party receives.
Those choices need to fit operational requirements as well as cryptographic guarantees. An institution should be able to understand how a private computation contributes to a decision and how it connects to the surrounding controls.
The workshop’s Chatham House format supports discussion of these implementation challenges across institutional and technical perspectives.
