About the Role

Silence Laboratories is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer to build the product surfaces around our cryptographic infrastructure: prototypes, demos, web apps, mobile interfaces, React Native SDK work, backend services, developer documentation, and partner-facing experiences.

This is a high-autonomy product engineering role. You should be comfortable going from a blank page to a deployed prototype, then hardening the parts that need to become production surfaces. The work may shift from a partner demo to a React Native integration to a documentation rebuild to a new product workflow. The common thread is ownership: you can understand the goal, design the path, ship the work, test it, explain it, and remain accountable after it goes live.

This is not a narrow frontend role and not a generic CRUD backend role. The strongest candidates will enjoy building across the stack in a security-sensitive domain where clarity, speed, and correctness all matter.

What You Will Own

  • Build customer-facing prototypes and product demos that help partners understand what is possible with Silence technology.

  • Develop and maintain web and mobile product surfaces using React, Next.js, React Native, TypeScript, and related tooling.

  • Build backend APIs, integration services, and developer-facing surfaces that expose cryptographic capabilities safely and clearly.

  • Improve SDK and documentation experiences so external developers can integrate without hand-holding.

  • Use LLM-assisted development workflows responsibly: move fast, but read the code, understand the architecture, run the tests, and own the output.

  • Collaborate with cryptography, backend, product, business development, and partner teams to translate ambiguous requirements into working software.

  • Help establish lightweight patterns for testing, CI/CD, observability, and regression prevention across fast-moving product surfaces.

What Success Looks Like

  • Early prototypes turn ambiguous partner or product needs into working software quickly enough to shape the conversation.

  • Several customer-facing demos, product features, or developer-facing surfaces move from brief to deployed artifact with clear ownership.

  • A React Native SDK or mobile-first integration path becomes more production-ready for a real customer or partner use case.

  • Developer documentation, examples, or integration guides become easier for external engineers and internal teams to use without repeated explanation.

  • A new product area has a clearer technical design because you translated ambiguity into a practical implementation path.

  • LLM-assisted development, where used, increases speed without weakening code ownership, review discipline, testing, or maintainability.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.

  • Strong TypeScript and React/Next.js experience, with the ability to build polished, reliable, user-facing interfaces.

  • React Native experience, or strong mobile development experience with a clear path to React Native productivity.

  • Backend/API development experience sufficient to build and own services, integrations, and product workflows end-to-end.

  • Evidence of shipping complete products, prototypes, tools, or demos independently or with very small teams.

  • Good security instincts when wrapping cryptographic or financial infrastructure in application surfaces.

  • Strong written communication and reliable async collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Native Kotlin or Swift experience.

  • Experience with SDKs, developer tools, passkeys/WebAuthn, wallet flows, custody, payments, or fintech interfaces.

  • Experience with documentation sites, API references, integration guides, or developer education.

  • Public artifacts such as GitHub projects, shipped apps, demos, technical writing, or open-source contributions.

  • Experience using AI coding tools thoughtfully in a production development workflow.

Why Silence Laboratories

Silence Laboratories operates at the intersection of deep cryptographic research and high-stakes production deployment. Our team brings together PhD researchers with affiliations at MIT CSAIL, UIUC, NUS, and SUTD, engineers from globally top-ranked security teams, and industry veterans with leadership experience at Oracle, VMware, Snapchat, and other leading technology companies. The distance between a new cryptographic result and production code is intentionally short here.

For this role, that means helping financial institutions adopt modern cryptographic infrastructure without weakening control, auditability, or operational resilience. The work has to satisfy cryptographers, engineers, customers, security teams, and regulators.

Compensation

Competitive base, equity participation, and visa or EOR support where applicable. Final compensation depends on location, seniority, and depth of experience in regulated financial infrastructure, HSM-backed systems, compliance architecture, and key-management work. We discuss compensation expectations early so both sides can confirm alignment before deeper technical interviews.

Our Hiring Process

  1. Application & written screen: CV plus four short-answer questions. We read every one.

  2. Intro call with hiring manager (45 min): Mutual qualification, role context, comp expectations, candidate questions.

  3. Architecture deep-dive (90 min): Walk through a real deployment you owned, then a working session on a regulated-deployment scenario we provide.

  4. Cross-functional panel (2 to 3 conversations): Cryptography, engineering, and customer-facing stakeholders.

  5. References & offer: Two backchannel references. Offer typically follows within a week.
